To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the popular alloy toy series "Chogokin", released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., the latest collaborative product with Pokémon, "Iron Moth", has been officially announced today. Pre-orders are currently open on the Pokémon Center Online, with shipments expected to begin sequentially after late November 2024.
The Paradox Pokémon "Iron Moth" is a new form of Pokémon that appeared in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. While possessing an appearance strikingly similar to Volcarona, it is an artificial Pokémon composed entirely of machinery. Rumors suggest it is actually a UFO used by aliens to monitor humans for an invasion of Earth, with records of it tracking and attacking humans in the air, though there is no definitive proof. Iron Moth's six wings can float independently, and in battle, they can form a shield or a beam-emitting panel in front of its body.
The "Chogokin Iron Moth" utilizes alloy parts and metallic paint to faithfully recreate its cool in-game appearance, while also providing a satisfyingly heavy feel during play. The head can reproduce 3 different expressions by swapping parts. Although there are not many articulated joints, with only the waist being rotatable, the six wings can be combined with rotating clear stands to recreate their simultaneous merging and unfolding movement trajectories from the game.
Furthermore, the product includes a dedicated display stand and "Booster Energy," an enhancement item exclusive to Paradox Pokémon. The display stand can store accessories such as expression parts and the Booster Energy. The Booster Energy features an LED light and a magnetic switch; simply touching it to Iron Moth's head will activate its glowing eyes!
