Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya today officially announced its brand-new original robot model kit series, 'FORME ARMS'. Multiple works-in-progress were also showcased at the 'Shizuoka Hobby Show 2024' venue, with products slated for sequential release starting in early 2025.

The new 'FORME ARMS' series inherits some elements from the previous 'FRAME ARMS' series while introducing further improvements. It retains the original mecha theme and the 3mm expansion ports for compatibility with M.S.G and other Kotobukiya original model kits. However, it abandons the design structure where each unit uses a common movable frame, returning to a simpler construction where a robot is formed by independent head, torso, arm, and leg parts. This liberates internal space, allowing for more diverse styling and articulation. Concurrently, the number of parts has been significantly reduced to lower assembly difficulty, and the retail price will be more accessible compared to previous 'FRAME ARMS' products.

FORME ARMS Rail Virth V.F.A.
Reference Price: 3,850 JPY (Tax Included)
The first product, 'Rail Virth V.F.A.', is designed by sera, a designer who has won numerous Kotobukiya official model-making competitions. It is a modification of his previously created original robot, 'Rail Virth'. Detailed product information and pre-orders are expected to be announced in July 2024. This product is anticipated to have fewer than 110 parts, a reduction of over one-third compared to the 'FRAME ARMS' series' typical 180 parts. The overall assembly structure is also more refined, with joints made of HIPS material and all other parts made of PC material.

FORME ARMS Shoryuki Grand Riser
Reference Price: 3,850 JPY (Tax Included)
The second product, 'Shoryuki Grand Riser', is also an original mecha designed by sera. Detailed product information and pre-orders are expected to be announced in Autumn 2024. Similar to the first release, it features joint designs that offer both expandability and articulation, allowing for customization by swapping limb parts with previously released 'FRAME ARMS' kits.

Furthermore, Kotobukiya has also invited sera to design multiple 'M.S.G' series customization parts. In addition to complementing the styles of 'Rail Virth V.F.A.' and 'Shoryuki Grand Riser', these parts can also be used to customize other original Kotobukiya model kits sold separately, such as Frame Arms Girl, Megami Device, and Hexa Gear.
