Japan's renowned toy company "Sentinel", as part of the 30th-anniversary commemorative project for the classic anime series "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers", will be releasing an action figure of the series' antagonist, "Oni Majin Shuten", from their "Chō Dan Kadō" series in January 2025! The price will be 18,000 JPY.
The anime series "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers" (鎧伝サムライトルーパー, literally "Armored Samurai Troopers", known as "Armored Saint Seiya" in Hong Kong) was produced by the famous Sunrise animation studio, airing from 1988 for a total of 39 episodes. The anime's main feature is the story of five protagonists, each donning colorful battle armor resembling Japanese samurai, known as "Yoroi Gear" (よろいギア), and possessing different abilities and titles, as they battle against the Youja Army led by the Demon Emperor "Arago".

Incidentally, it can be seen that the protagonists and armor designs of this work are very similar to "Saint Seiya". This project was influenced by the success of "Saint Seiya" in 1986 and was conceived in response to it. At that time, the theme of people donning armor to fight was very popular, and Yoroiden Samurai Troopers later became a classic representative of this genre.
Oni Majin Shuten, one of the Four Demon Generals, also known as Shuten Doji, whose real name is "Komato Shishitada" (こまとしただ), is the warrior of "Loyalty". Originally a local lord, he yearned for immense power to quell the chaos of war, thus willingly becoming a Demon General under the Demon Emperor Arago. His armor is named "Kiriki", said to be the strongest among the Four Demon Generals, and he wields a weapon called "Jaki Kama". His special move is "Kōraisen" (Red Thunder Flash).
This Oni Majin Shuten released by Sentinel is the first antagonist character in the series. Standing approximately 15 cm tall, it inherits the highly articulated body's excellent playability. The armor can be assembled independently into a display state and comes with a dedicated stand. For accessories, it includes two sets of interchangeable hand parts. His main weapon, the "Jaki Kama", is faithfully recreated and can be displayed both handheld and with a chain. Furthermore, its excellent articulation allows for recreating the pose of his special move, Kōraisen. A cross spear and a shakujo (Buddhist staff) are also included as interchangeable options.
