Renowned poster design and toy company MONDO has launched a new product based on the classic anime "Cowboy Bebop" (カウボーイビバップ) — the "Ein" (アイン) soft vinyl figure. With a suggested retail price of US$84.99 and a global limit of 230 units, it is currently available for exclusive pre-order on the well-known toy website Entertainment Earth, with an estimated shipping date of June 2024!
"Cowboy Bebop" is an original television anime series produced in 1998 by Sunrise and Bandai Visual, based on a concept by Hajime Yatate and directed by Shinichirō Watanabe. The story follows protagonists Spike (スパイク) and Jet (ジェット) as they pilot the spaceship Bebop (Beebop), making a living as bounty hunters in space. Later, they encounter Faye (フェイ), a beautiful woman burdened with massive debt, Ed (エド), a computer prodigy, and Ein (アイン), a data dog. Together, the group wanders the vast cosmos, searching for their respective pasts.
Ein (アイン) first appears in the second episode of the anime. He is the data dog aboard the Bebop, named after the great scientist Albert Einstein. A test subject from a certain experimental institution, he possesses excellent information processing capabilities and intelligence several times higher than that of an average dog, yet Spike treats him as an ordinary mutt. For this release, MONDO has crafted Ein into a soft vinyl figure approximately 17.7 cm tall, sculpting his appearance as seen in the series. His dark fur is rendered with brown glitter soft vinyl material, while the fur on his belly and legs is painted white, faithfully recreating his fluffy, innocent look! In terms of accessories, in addition to a dog bowl also made from glitter soft vinyl material, the figure also includes the "Brain Dream" gaming device that appeared in the series, which can be worn on Ein's head!
The outer box is designed in the shape of the briefcase Ein used to escape the laboratory!
