From the 'PRIPRA' series of pre-painted plastic models launched by Japanese model prototype manufacturer M.I.C., the gourmet feast series 'Figure's Meal (フィギュアのごはん)', specifically designed for 1/12 scale articulated figures, recently announced its latest tenth installment, 'Figure's Meal Vol.10 Donburi Love', slated for release in September 2024.
The 'Figure's Meal' series utilizes metal molds produced by 3D metal printers for injection molding, precisely printing the rich colors of ingredients onto the plastic model parts. It delicately reproduces the colors and luster of the ingredients themselves or after cooking, making them look incredibly appetizing. Furthermore, the 1/12 scale corresponds to the mainstream size of articulated figures in the market, allowing you to display them with your favorite character models!
The commemorative tenth installment, 'Figure's Meal Vol.10 Donburi Love', returns to the series' origin, once again focusing on "Donburi". Donburi (どんぶり) is one of Japan's most common staple foods, generally referring to dishes served in a large bowl. Specifically, donburi rice bowls, where white rice is topped with various ingredients, are the most prevalent type in modern times, including Katsudon, Gyudon, Oyakodon, Seafood Donburi, and more, all commonly found in restaurants and even convenience stores.
The models utilize precise molding technology to reproduce chopsticks, spoons, and the classic Japanese vermilion bowls and lids. The food parts are brought to life with high-resolution printing and coloring, recreating realistic patterns and vibrant colors for each dish, making them look incredibly mouth-watering, just like real food. This release includes a total of 10 types of donburi, including Sea Urchin & Salmon Roe Donburi, Katsudon, Curry Udon, Oyakodon Sanshoku Don, Oyakodon, Gyudon, Tamago Kake Gohan, Tempura Soba, Gekikara Ramen, and Zenzai. Although each set only comes with 6 bowl parts, the molds are the same as the bowls from the first installment, allowing the food parts to be freely interchanged.
