BANDAI CANDY, the confectionery toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced today that the latest product from the popular FW GUNDAM CONVERGE series, specifically the 'FW GUNDAM CONVERGE ♯' line, which features more intricate and bold designs with the "♯(Sharp)" designation, will release the "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE ♯MOVIE VISUAL SELECTION", based on the Mobile Suit Gundam theatrical films, in September 2024.
This product is based on the movie posters used during the release of the 1981 theatrical films 'Mobile Suit Gundam' and 'Mobile Suit Gundam II: Soldiers of Sorrow'. It re-paints previously released One Year War Mobile Suits from the FW GUNDAM CONVERGE series using the vivid and highly sci-fi special color schemes from these posters, releasing seven Mobile Suits from the following two posters all at once!
The lineup includes seven Mobile Suits: Gundam and Char's Zaku II from the 'Mobile Suit Gundam I' poster, and Dom, Char's Z'Gok, Gogg, Gouf, and Gundam from the 'Mobile Suit Gundam II: Soldiers of Sorrow' poster. The most special and highlighted item is the RX-78-2 Gundam from the 'Soldiers of Sorrow' poster, which is entirely painted in a deep blue metallic color, with its twin-eye cameras featuring transparent blue, capturing its semi-transparent appearance as it emerges from cosmic dust in the poster.
