Last month, renowned American toy manufacturer Hasbro unveiled 6 key products from its Marvel Legends 6-inch action figure series, such as "Ghost Rider Danny Ketch & Hell Cycle," during an online livestream, all slated for release this year. Just recently, Hasbro Pulse's official YouTube channel released a video revealing another upcoming new product in the series—the "Hulkbuster" action figure. With a suggested retail price of US$59.99, it is expected to be released in October 2024, with pre-orders opening on the Hasbro Pulse official website starting May 22, 2024, at 1:00 PM ET!
The "Hulkbuster" first appeared in 1994 in issue #304 of the comic book "Iron Man." It is an Iron Man suit specifically designed by Tony Stark to counter the Incredible Hulk. To withstand the Hulk's immense destructive power, the armor was designed to be extremely heavy and robust, with significantly enhanced strength to contend with the Hulk. The Hulkbuster also made adapted appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and "Avengers: Infinity War," so Marvel fans are undoubtedly familiar with this powerful armored suit!
In the introductory video, the host first placed a 6-inch comic-version Iron Man action figure on the table as a scale reference. When the Hulkbuster was brought out from below, everyone was amazed by its design and size. The product faithfully recreates the Hulkbuster's red and gold armor design, with articulated joints in the chest and limbs allowing for flexible recreation of various combat poses. The helmet can be removed and replaced with a Tony Stark head sculpt, showcasing Tony inside the armor. The host also mentioned that Hasbro's marketing and product development teams regularly observe the play habits of toy content creators, who sometimes swap head sculpts of different-sized figures. While this can sometimes lead to disproportionate appearances, the design of this Hulkbuster ensures that even with Stark's head sculpt, the proportions remain highly accurate and visually harmonious!
Due to the somewhat massive design of the figure itself, the chest and back armor pieces will be separated and placed into the window-box packaging. When playing, they can simply be snapped together to recreate the complete look!
