Japanese model manufacturer Max Factory's new plastic model kit series, 'PLAMATEA,' today announced the latest product from the 'Hatsune Miku GT Project,' 'Racing Miku 2023Ver.,' is scheduled for release in January 2025.
'Racing Miku' serves as the official ambassador for the Japanese racing team GOODSMILE RACING (GSR). Since the launch of the 'Hatsune Miku GT Project' in 2008, a different illustrator has been commissioned each year to design her with unique outfits and appearances. This new design is then emblazoned on the team's race cars for that season, drawing considerable attention. For 2023, illustrator Toridamono, renowned for character designs in the "Atelier Ryza" series, took the helm, incorporating elements such as cute fangs and plump thighs into Hatsune Miku's new image, creating an impression that is both energetic and somewhat alluring.
The 'PLAMATEA Racing Miku 2023Ver.' is an articulated figure, approximately 15.5 cm tall, assembled from multi-colored molded parts and pre-painted parts. Each component meticulously recreates intricate hair details, the voluptuous and fleshy body parts, and the rich details of her outfit. The included water-slide decals allow for the creation of various sponsor logos on her attire, thoroughly reproducing the image drawn by illustrator toridamono.
Accessories include multiple interchangeable hand parts, a pre-painted "smiling face," and two additional expression parts that can be completed using the included eye decals. Inheriting the flexible joint design cultivated by the 'figma' series of articulated figures, she boasts a wide range of articulation, allowing her to strike various lively and adorable poses, especially when paired with the "GOODSMILE RACING" cheering flag.
