Japanese model toy company Hasegawa has announced a new product based on the classic anime series "Devilman" – the "Devilman (TV Anime Version)" non-scale resin model. It has a suggested retail price of 7,590 JPY and is scheduled for release on July 24, 2024!
"Devilman" (デビルマン) is a fantasy manga series created by Japanese manga artist Go Nagai. In 1972, Toei Animation adapted it into a TV anime series broadcast on TV Asahi, and it later spawned related works such as OVAs, novels, films, web animations, and video games. The story follows the protagonist, Akira Fudo, who, in a critical situation during an incident, agrees to merge with the demon hero Amon (アモン), transforming into "Devilman," a being with the powers of a demon and the heart of a human, fighting demons to protect humanity.
This "Devilman (TV Anime Version)" non-scale resin model stands approximately 15 cm tall. It is crafted in the image of Devilman from the 1972 TV anime version, meticulously recreating the muscular lines and iconic head sculpt. Details such as the wrinkles on his briefs are also sculpted, and the flat coloring style of cel animation is used to reproduce Devilman's cool appearance as seen on television!
