The popular die-cast toy series "METAL BUILD," released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., today officially unveiled the full details of its latest limited-edition product, "Strike Freedom Gundam [METAL BUILD FESTIVAL 2024]." This product is a special item commemorating the "METAL BUILD FESTIVAL 2024 WITH CLUB TAMASHII MEMBERS" exhibition. For sales information, please refer to the official website of "TAMASHII NATIONS STORE TOKYO."
The ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam is the mobile suit piloted by protagonist Kira Yamato in "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny." Equipped with a Hyper Deuterion Engine capable of generating massive amounts of energy, it can deploy a large array of high-firepower beam weapons such as high-energy beam rifles, "Xiphias 3" railguns, and "Calidus" multi-phase beam cannons. Furthermore, its back features the "Super DRAGOON" Mobile Weapon Wing, a propulsion system developed from the "Voiture Lumiere" system, with 8 "Beam Assault Cannons" on each side that can deploy for all-range attacks. Combined with Kira Yamato's Super Coordinator abilities, it can simultaneously hit numerous enemy units.
The "METAL BUILD Strike Freedom Gundam [METAL BUILD FESTIVAL 2024]" is based on a modified version of the previously released standard edition. Its exterior armor is rendered with pearl, high-gloss, and metallic colors, making it appear significantly shinier compared to previous versions that predominantly used matte finishes. It also features some newly designed body markings. The characteristic gold frame of the mobile suit is thoroughly reproduced with electroplating, combining with the die-cast material to deliver a cool metallic texture and a substantial feel when handled.
The mechanisms and weapon accessories are identical to previous versions. The 8 mobile weapon wings on the back can deploy radially, reproducing their launch state detached from the stand, and can even be combined with separately sold "Wings of Light" effect parts to recreate dynamic scenes. Weapons included are two high-energy beam rifles, two beam sabers, and beam shield effects that deploy from both forearms. When the two beam rifles are connected front-to-back, an original telescopic mechanism extends their total length to 27 cm. The railguns on both sides of the waist also feature a deployment mechanism, allowing for the recreation of a "full burst" state with all cannons firing simultaneously.
