Taiwanese toy design company Asmus Toys recently unveiled several new Ultraman-themed products. This article will introduce the "Space Robot King Joe (キングジョー)" soft vinyl toy from the "QBitz" series!
King Joe first appeared in Episode 14 of "Ultraseven." It is set as a combat robot created by the Pedan aliens (ペダン), standing 55 meters tall. It possesses not only immense strength, capable of easily lifting 100,000-ton ships, but also the ability to fire destructive beams! Beyond its offensive capabilities, King Joe's defensive prowess is top-notch, featuring sturdy special metal armor and a protective shield. It can even utilize a "separation" mechanism to disassemble its robot mode into four vehicles, making it a formidable opponent capable of both direct confrontation and outflanking adversaries with its comprehensive functions. Since its debut in 1968, King Joe has remained active, even being utilized by humans in "Ultraman Z" where it gained a new form as "Special Airborne Armor No. 3 King Joe STORAGE Custom."
This King Joe, being brought to life by Asmus Toys, is a soft vinyl toy reinterpreted with the QBitz series' characteristic chibi proportions, yet it still retains abundant mechanical details. Standing at 21 cm tall, current official images show that this piece not only fully recreates King Joe's mechanical structure but also realistically depicts the wrinkles of the suit worn by the actor. The paint application excels in both its metallic luster and the delicate gradient colors on the chest. Its arms are also equipped with movable joints for simple rotation, making the overall impression quite exciting!
