BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced today the latest product from its new "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE SB" series, which features battleships from the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series. The new item, "Archangel-class Assault Carrier, Ship 1, Archangel," from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED," is scheduled for release in October 2024.
The LCAM-01XA Archangel-class Assault Carrier, Ship 1, Archangel, is a space battleship jointly developed by the Atlantic Federation Forces and Orb's state-owned military-industrial enterprise, Morgenroete, Inc. As part of the "G Weapon Development Project," this vessel was designed as a mothership for the "GAT-X series Gundams." In addition to its excellent navigation capabilities and living functions, powered by a laser nuclear fusion reactor and an 80% conversion rate solar power generation system, its combat performance is also formidable. It not only utilizes laminated armor that significantly reduces beam damage but also mounts the extremely powerful experimental weapon, the "Lohengrin Positron Cannon." Due to its superior performance, the vessel remained in active service even during the theatrical film "FREEDOM."
The "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE SB Archangel" features the entire ship's design in SD scale, condensing high-density, precise details into a 15 cm overall length. It meticulously sculpts the rich panel lines on the armor surface, the characteristic six large thrusters at the stern, and communication antennae and other equipment around the bridge. The bow part also includes a component printed with the "Compass" logo, allowing it to recreate its appearance from the theatrical film "FREEDOM."
The accessories also include a wealth of armament parts. By swapping parts, you can recreate the deployed states of the main cannon "Lohengrin Positron Cannon," the single-barrel linear cannon "Gottfried Mk.8," the twin-barrel high-energy beam cannon "Valiant Mk.71," and the "Electromagnetic Catapult" for MS launch. It even includes a mini model of the onboard escort fighter "Moebius Zero" for display.
