TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., today announced the latest product from the "ROBOT魂 ver. A.N.I.M.E." series of robot-themed action figures, based on "Mobile Suit Gundam MSV": the "Zaku Tank (Sand Sheep)", scheduled for release in November 2024.
The MS-06V Zaku Tank is a mobile suit hastily repaired and assembled by the Zeon forces during the One Year War, combining the upper body of a Zaku II with the chassis of a Magella Attack Tank, using salvaged damaged units from the front lines. Due to its tank treads, which can adapt to various broken terrains, and its dual arms, which can be replaced with simple manipulators to swap out various tools like excavators, loggers, and cutters as needed, this model is mostly responsible for logistics tasks such as transportation, construction, and resource gathering. The variant being commercialized this time is the "Sand Sheep," which provided logistical support on the African front. In the past, a "Green Macaque" specification for logging and pioneering was also released, while the Nordic and South American fronts saw modifications into the firepower-enhanced "Wild Boar" variant.
The "ROBOT魂 Zaku Tank (Sand Sheep) ver. A.N.I.M.E." is based on the previously released Zaku Tank. In addition to having a sculpt close to early design sketches, the entire unit features new molding colors and body markings to reproduce the desert camouflage characteristic of the "Sand Sheep." For articulation, it features pull-out shoulder joints, two-axis movable abdominal joints, and rotatable/sliding treads, allowing for various poses in different scenarios.
In addition to a pair of work manipulators and a 3-barrel machine gun positioned at the front of the unit, accessories also include a command lift platform, a cargo rack for transport, and a cannon unit for combat, allowing you to recreate the Sand Sheep active in various roles!
