BANPRESTO, a prize figure brand under Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, officially launched its latest prize figure, the "Glowing Tsuchinoko Bocchi," on May 28th, based on the popular manga Bocchi the Rock! It is now available at amusement arcades across Japan.

The Shimokitazawa Tsuchinoko is a manifestation of protagonist Hitori Gotoh (Bocchi). During a band photoshoot with the "Kessoku Band" members, her "never having taken photos with friends" triggered a bout of adolescent syndrome, causing her to imagine herself as a limp, rare creature, a "Tsuchinoko," dwelling in a dark, damp, narrow space somewhere in Shimokitazawa, particularly fond of areas near trash cans. This serves as her self-deprecating way of mocking her gloomy personality, which is distinctly different from typical high school girls.

The "Glowing Tsuchinoko Bocchi" brings the anime's depiction to life as a three-dimensional figure. Measuring approximately 20 cm in length, it faithfully recreates Bocchi's characteristic hair ornaments, her listless and gloomy expression even as a Tsuchinoko, and her plump, pink body. By inserting batteries (sold separately) and flipping the switch, the internal LED light illuminates, allowing it to function as a night light. Despite disliking sunlight, it emits its own glow, letting the adorable Tsuchinoko Bocchi light up your night.
