BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan business division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., today announced that the latest product from the theatrical anime film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, the "METEOR Unit (Gundam SEED FREEDOM Ver.)", will be released in October 2024, as part of their popular Shokugan series "Mobile Suit Gundam G-FRAME FA".
The Tactical Assault Machine M.E.T.E.O.R was originally just a backpack system developed by the Z.A.F.T. military to enhance MS flight performance, mobility, and firepower. However, with the emergence of MS equipped with "Neutron Jammer Cancellers", this project transformed into a giant armament that utilized the nearly infinite energy of nuclear engines to produce immense destructive power and mobility. It is equipped with high-energy convergent beam cannons, anti-ship missiles, and giant beam swords. Normally attached to the exterior of the Clyne Faction's mothership "Eternal", it can combine with nuclear-engine mobile suits such as the Freedom Gundam and Justice Gundam when necessary, unleashing terrifying overkill firepower and high mobility to sweep the battlefield.
The overall parts usage for the "G-FRAME FA METEOR Unit (Gundam SEED FREEDOM Ver.)" is fundamentally the same as the regular version released in 2022, featuring rich armor lines and intricate detailing. It also boasts extensive articulation mechanisms to recreate both its stored and transformed deployment states. In its stored state, it measures 37 cm long, and when transformed and deployed, it extends to 48 cm. When equipped with beam effects, it achieves an impressive total length of 76 cm, making it one of the largest products in the G-FRAME FA series.
In addition to connection parts for combining with Mobile Suits like Freedom Gundam and Justice Gundam, and a dedicated display stand, the accessories also include new MS connection parts and fuselage marking stickers to recreate Units 7 and 8 from the theatrical film. These can be combined with the separately sold Duel Blitz Gundam and Lightning Buster Gundam main bodies to form their cool in-movie appearances. It's even possible to use Mobile Suits like the "Rising Freedom Gundam" to achieve forms not seen in the film!
