The alloy action figure series "MORTAL MIND" from Chinese toy brand CCSTOYS today officially announced full product details for its latest item from "Mazinkaizer SKL", the "Mazinkaizer SKL", scheduled for release in October 2024.
The OVA anime "Mazinkaizer SKL", released in 2011, departed from the settings of previous OVA Mazinkaizer versions, featuring new characters, mecha designs, and an original story background. It depicts the WSO's combat unit SKULL FORCE intervening in the power struggle between the three major factions on Machine Island, joining forces with the Aira Army against the Kiba and Garand armies. The two protagonists, Ken Kaido and Ryo Magami, who famously declare "We are Hell!", pilot the super robot "Mazinkaizer SKL", a power that transcends demons and gods. Its appearance incorporates numerous skull designs and is equipped with two distinct armaments: the retractable greatsword "Gazan Blade" and the "Breast Trigger" twin guns that can transform into giant axes, catering to Ken Kaido's expertise in close-quarters combat and Ryo Magami's unparalleled precision shooting skills.
The "MORTAL MIND Mazinkaizer SKL" reinterprets the original design's silhouette with new, original stylistic details, presenting a powerful form that transcends gods and demons at an approximate height of 25 cm. Its sharp and cool full-body sculpt is crafted with a movable frame made of plastic and alloy materials, while also featuring rich metallic paintwork to convey a heavy, substantial texture. With the addition of a battle-damaged cape and chain accessories, its wild image from the original work can be faithfully recreated.
The versatile armaments, capable of switching between long-range and close-quarters attack modes, are arguably SKL's greatest feature. Accessories include the signature "Gazan Blade," a weapon comparable in size to the main body, and the "Breast Trigger" twin guns that detach from the chest. Parts can also be swapped to recreate the twin guns' axe mode. The demonic wings of the support mecha "Wingal" from the series can also be combined with Mazinkaizer SKL in this product. Furthermore, CCSTOYS' original weapon, the "Serpent Blade," can not only be wielded in hand but also connected to the wings like a tail, presenting an even more intense, devil-like appearance than in the original work.
The "Skull Pilder" mounted in the head can transform into flight mode without needing to swap parts. Using the included effect parts, the pose for unleashing the special move "Hell Fire" can be recreated!
