Japan's MEGAHOUSE toy company's action figure series "Variable Action Hi-SPEC" is scheduled to re-release the "Orguss II Olsson Special" (オーガスⅡ オルソン・スペシャル) unit from the previously released "Super Dimension Century Orguss" anime in December 2024, with enhanced content, as a Renewal version, priced at 41,800 JPY.
"Super Dimension Century Orguss" (超時空世紀オーガス) is a television robot anime series that premiered in Japan in 1983. It, along with "Super Dimension Fortress Macross" and the later "Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross," are collectively known as the "Super Dimension Series," with "Super Dimension Century Orguss" being the second work in this series.
The story primarily follows the protagonist, Kei Katsuragi, a member of the Space Army. During a battle for control of the "Space Elevator," the firing of a Space-Time Oscillation Bomb caused a space-time anomaly, pulling him and his teammate Olsson 20 years into the future. There, he encounters a caravan of Emaan people and travels with them. To return to his original time, as a critical singularity in time, he continuously strives, piloting the robot "Orguss" (オーガス) to fight against enemies.
This "Orguss II Olsson Special" action robot toy from MegaHouse's "Variable Action Hi-SPEC" series is an enhanced re-release of a previously launched version. Its exterior colors are now even closer to the original anime, and it includes previously unfeatured articulated finger parts, along with an updated display stand, allowing the robot to strike more poses and arrangements. The original transformable capabilities remain intact, perfectly recreating all four forms. Standing approximately 21 cm tall, its alloy material gives it a substantial and high-quality feel.
