Japanese toy company KOTOBUKIYA is scheduled to release a 1/7 scale PVC figure of "Adol Christin" (アドル＝クリスティン), the protagonist from the classic action RPG game "Ys" (伊蘇), in December 2024, priced at 26,950 JPY.
Veteran JRPG fans are certainly no strangers to the "Ys" (イース) series. "Ys" was developed by Japanese game developer Falcom, initially released on personal computers in 1987, and subsequently ported to platforms such as the Nintendo Famicom and PC-Engine. It begins with the adventure story of the red-haired swordsman protagonist "Adol Christin", allowing players to experience the sights, people, and events he encounters in various places through the game. The latest installment in the series, "Ys X: Nordics", was released on various platforms in September 2023.
Among the series, "Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA", first released on the PS Vita in 2016, received the most praise from players. Not only did it feature numerous breakthroughs in action, graphics, and gameplay, but its most beloved aspect was the highly successful character development and narrative description of the heroine, Dana. Many players still fondly remember her after completing the game, and it is considered an insurmountable milestone in the series.
This 1/7 scale PVC figure of Adol Christin from Kotobukiya stands approximately 22.5 cm tall. Its design is based on his appearance during the "Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA" period, where Adol is 21 years old, already showing the maturity and experience of a high-level adventurer. He is wearing the uniform he wore while assisting on the ship, and is posed holding his customary weapon, a "longsword," with both hands, lowering his center of gravity, ready for battle. Every detail on his body, such as the texture of his hair, the accessories on his waist, and the emblem on his sword, has been meticulously recreated. Overall, it is both dashing and exquisite. It is highly recommended for collectors.
