Japan's MegaHouse toy company, under its popular "VARIABLE ACTION HEROES" series, which condenses ultimate sculpting techniques to showcase character charm, is set to release the latest "VARIABLE ACTION HEROES ONE PIECE Red-Haired Shanks Ver.1.5" action figure, following the long-awaited new 《ONE PIECE》 release, "Zorojuro"! The suggested retail price is 10,450 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in late October 2024.
Shanks, captain of the Red-Haired Pirates, nicknamed "Red-Haired Shanks" (赤髪のシャンクス), is one of the "Four Emperors" and an idol whom protagonist Luffy admired since childhood. At the beginning of the story in the "East Blue Arc," he lost his left arm saving Luffy from a Sea King, inspiring Luffy's dream of becoming a pirate. Shanks entrusted his straw hat to Luffy for safekeeping, promising to return it when Luffy becomes a great pirate.
The "VARIABLE ACTION HEROES ONE PIECE Red-Haired Shanks Ver.1.5" action figure is an improved version based on the "Red-Haired Shanks" figure released in 2017, featuring new sculpting and paintwork. The overall color scheme is more realistic and three-dimensional. The cape is made of fabric, allowing for more freedom in posing. It comes with three interchangeable face parts—smiling, serious, and laughing—along with various hand parts, a sword, and a scabbard. Red-Haired Shanks is back!
