For the Year of the Dragon, threezero specially launched the brand new MDLX Optimus Prime (Year of the Dragon Limited Edition), globally limited to 1,398 units. It features a mixed paint application of bright gold and dark gold, adorned with dragon patterns. The left and right shoulders are respectively printed with the fifth character of the Earthly Branches, '辰' (chen), traditionally used for sequencing in China, and the character '龍' (long), representing the zodiac animal of the Chen year.
The MDLX Optimus Prime figure stands approximately 17.8 cm tall, featuring around 48 points of articulation and a die-cast metal frame. Accessories include an Ion Blaster, an Energy Axe, the Matrix of Leadership, and six pairs of interchangeable hands.
As a toy, the MDLX series truly stands at the pinnacle!
Its redesigned appearance, uniformly packed with intricate details, is incredibly dashing! Despite the limitation of being non-transformable, it presents Optimus Prime at 150% of his essence! The gold also features three distinct layers, making its aesthetic truly captivating. Honestly, although it's a limited edition toy, I purchased it during a toy store's closing sale... but after unboxing and playing with it, I undeniably fell in love!
This 'Chen Haonan-esque' styling certainly takes some time to digest! However, the QC (Quality Control) is excellent, articulation is superb, and the tactile feel during play is superior to other toys! So, if you're a fan of Transformers or robot series and can let go of the obsession with transformation, this series is indeed an excellent choice!
On another note, I'd like to vent a little! I haven't received any advertising fees, but this Ark restaurant in Hong Kong is also a good choice as a themed restaurant. However, if you look at the background of my photos... today is Saturday, and the environment is like this, so you can imagine how dire its business situation is... Honestly, I wondered if the food quality was poor, leading to this situation? But I ordered a pizza and a coconut coffee, and price aside, the taste was actually quite good! Fortunately, because I went to the Transformers 40th anniversary premiere, I had a $30 discount coupon, so with that offset, I found this meal to be very good value! If the restaurant's prices were lowered a bit, I believe it could still survive in the market...
Friends who like Transformers toys or themed restaurants should continue to show their support! Disclaimer! I haven't received any advertising fees, although I'd be very happy for major manufacturers or businesses to reach out to me...
