The American toy manufacturer Diamond Select Toys' "Legends in 3-Dimensions Bust" series introduces a new product based on the classic film "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla" – the "Godzilla (1974)" 1/2 scale collector's bust. The suggested retail price is US$200, limited to 1000 pieces worldwide, and is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2025!
Released in 1974, "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla" (ゴジラ対メカゴジラ), directed by Ishirō Honda, is the 14th film in Toho's Godzilla series and also commemorates Godzilla's 20th anniversary. The story tells of an alien-made Mechagodzilla disguised as Godzilla attacking Japan, leading to an intense battle with Godzilla.
This Godzilla (1974) 1/2 scale collector's bust stands approximately 24.1 cm tall. Crafted entirely from resin, it faithfully recreates Godzilla's suit appearance from the film, detailing his rough skin and the iconic round eyes of the 1974 version. A glossy finish is applied to the surface of the eyeballs, making them appear remarkably vivid and piercing! Furthermore, a major highlight of this release is the explosive-themed base, which uses clear resin combined with meticulous painting to convey a scorching hot sensation, showcasing Godzilla's immense destructive power!
