Mattel Creations, the online sales platform under American toy company Mattel that collaborates with fan creators to sell their works, has announced another new Star Wars-themed product from its popular die-cast car series "Hot Wheels" set to be released at this year's annual San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) – the "Starships Select Royal Naboo Starship." The suggested retail price is US$30, and the product is also expected to be available simultaneously on the Mattel Creations official website on July 25, 2024, Pacific Time!
The "Royal Naboo Starship" first appeared in the film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. It is a modified J-type 327 Nubian starship and was Queen Amidala's royal starship during the invasion of Naboo. In the film, she, along with Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, used this starship to escape the Trade Federation's occupation of Naboo. While undergoing repairs on Tatooine, they met young Anakin, then traveled together to Coruscant, the capital of the Galactic Republic, and eventually returned to Naboo.
This "Starships Select Royal Naboo Starship" faithfully recreates the Royal Naboo Starship's appearance from the film, utilizing Hot Wheels' renowned die-cast detailing technology. Its metallic silver exterior is achieved through electroplating, exuding an extraordinary high-quality feel with its brilliant luster!
