Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya's new original plastic model kit series "Megalo Maria" today announced its latest product, "Mephisto," is scheduled for release in November 2024.

The brand-new series "Megalo Maria" is Kotobukiya's first product with the vast majority of its parts manufactured domestically in Japan. Unlike previous plastic model kits featuring bishojo-style humans or mecha girls, this series adopts the new "Marionette Style" body, which boasts a humanoid puppet appearance and prioritizes "poseability" and "expressiveness." Its unique composite worldview is presented as a "play-within-a-play," connecting various plastic model kit series released by Kotobukiya, allowing for infinite possibilities in play.

The sixth installment, "Mephisto," is the series' first male character. It assembles into a 180mm tall body using six different molded colors: deep red, black, clear red, light gray, clear blue, and translucent gold. It boasts a cool physique reminiscent of a comic book hero and features an impressive 54 points of articulation. Numerous areas, including the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and calves, are designed for flexible movement, allowing the figure to perform incredibly lifelike and flexible poses such as seiza, hero kneeling, cross-legged sitting, and full splits.

Most of the exterior armor features a detachable design, allowing for transformation and suit-up scenes akin to Tokusatsu heroes. The wrist joints also incorporate the series' common 180-degree triple-reverse structure, enabling the connection points to extend and attach blades or various weapons to both arms.
