The highly popular 1/12 scale action figure series "One:12 Collective" from American toy brand MEZCO TOYZ recently announced a new product based on the classic toy IP "G.I. JOE" for release at the annual San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) – the "Snake Eyes - Commando Edition." The suggested retail price is US$112, with online pre-orders shipping after SDCC concludes!
The "G.I. JOE" toy line originated in 1964 as a soldier doll toy released by American toy manufacturer Hasbro for boys, defining the new term "Action Figure," which remains the generic term for all articulated figures today. The "G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero" series, which toy enthusiasts are more familiar with, was Hasbro's re-marketed 3.75-inch action figure line released in 1982. "Snake Eyes" was initially designed with all stylistic elements removed to save costs, resulting in an all-black commando appearance, which unexpectedly became immensely popular and the best-selling character in the series!
This "Snake Eyes - Commando Edition" 1/12 scale action figure stands approximately 17 cm tall. It features a commando outfit meticulously recreated with real fabric, including his turtleneck sweater, commando chest harness, utility belt with a knife sheath, and a cross-body bag for various grenades. The figure comes with a rich array of weapon accessories, including one knife, three pistols, two machine guns, one submachine gun, four grenades, and one C-4 explosive. Coupled with multiple interchangeable hand parts and various muzzle flash effect pieces, it perfectly recreates Snake Eyes' powerful and unstoppable cool image!
