American toy brand SUPER7, dedicated to releasing various pop culture-themed toys, has announced several new products from its 3.75-inch articulated figure series "ReAction" that will be released at the annual event San Diego Comic Con (SDCC). This article will introduce the "Godzilla vs. Hedorah" Hedorah (Hawaii Colorway) 3.75-inch articulated figure blister card!
Hedorah, who appeared in the 1971 film "Godzilla vs. Hedorah" (ゴジラ対ヘドラ), was originally a mineral from space that transformed into a pollution monster after absorbing excessive harmful waste discharged by factories. Although Hedorah was a dark, foul-smelling waste monster in the film, various colorful Hedorah sofubi figures were released after the movie's premiere to cater to overseas toy market sales and product cost-profit considerations. Toy collectors who love sofubi toys are surely no strangers to the vibrant Hedorah figures!
This "Hedorah (Hawaii Colorway)" is a repaint based on the Hedorah previously released in the second wave of TOHO ReAction. Inspired by the color schemes of Hedorah sofubi toys exported from Japan to Hawaii in the 70s, this 3.75-inch Hedorah articulated figure is painted with a gradient of orange, teal, pink, and purple. The vivid visual effect, combining pearlescent and flat paint colors, creates a sheen that appears to float on its body, giving the overall figure a tropical flair distinct from its original foul-smelling color!
