Good Smile Company's popular and best-selling "Nendoroid" (ねんどろいど) series is scheduled to release a Nendoroid toy of "Ippo Makunouchi," the protagonist from the classic, long-running popular anime and manga series "Hajime no Ippo," in December 2024, priced at 6,500 JPY.

The work "Hajime no Ippo" (はじめの一歩), created by Japanese manga artist George Morikawa, is a shonen manga series centered on boxing. It began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" in 1989 and is still ongoing as of 2024. The Japanese original title "Hajime no Ippo" means "the first step" of something, which also echoes protagonist Ippo Makunouchi's boxing life. The story follows him as the protagonist, describing how Ippo, originally bullied, enters the Kamogawa Boxing Gym after meeting Mamoru Takamura. From then on, he embarks on a journey from an unknown underdog, through numerous trials and challenges, transforming into a champion boxer who has defeated many strong opponents.
This Nendoroid release of Ippo Makunouchi stands approximately 10 cm tall, recreating his shirtless appearance, wearing boxing shorts with "IPPO" (Ippo's Romanization) written on them. He comes with a standard serious face and a swollen-eyed face after taking a hit. For accessories, there's a special bent waist part that allows him to pose his signature technique, the "Dempsey Roll."
