TAITO Corporation (株式会社タイトー) of Japan recently announced on X (formerly Twitter) a new addition to their "Aqua Float Girls" (アクア フロート ガールズ) prize figure series, which features anime characters in swimsuit designs. The new product will be "Ai Hoshino" from the popular anime "Oshi no Ko," slated for release as a prize figure in September 2024!
"Oshi no Ko" is a Japanese manga series written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, adapted into an anime by Doga Kobo in 2023. The story follows Gorou Amemiya, an obstetrician working in a rural area, who unexpectedly becomes the attending physician for his beloved idol, Ai Hoshino. However, he is murdered before Ai's delivery and is reincarnated as one of her twin children. Tragically, Ai is later stabbed to death in her home. As the twins grow up, they slowly uncover the truth behind Ai's murder.
This Aqua Float Girls Ai Hoshino figure captures Ai sitting in a swim ring, with one hand extended forward and the other striking her classic idol pose. The intricate sculpting highlights the various wrinkles on her swimsuit and Ai's beautiful body curves. Furthermore, a translucent material combined with paintwork creates a dreamy visual effect for Ai's flowing hair! Consistent with other figures in this series, the figure itself and the swim ring can be displayed separately. The dynamic, flowing pose, adorable swimsuit, and idol smile are simply too cute!
