Today (02), TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectible toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., announced the commercialization of the protagonist from the popular anime "My Hero Academia" under its S.H.Figuarts action figure brand!
"My Hero Academia" is a superhero-themed manga by Kohei Horikoshi, serialized in Shueisha's "Weekly Shonen Jump" since 2014. In 2016, it was adapted into a TV anime by animation studio BONES. Shortly after the seventh season of the anime premiered in June 2024, the official announcement was made that the manga would conclude on August 5th, leaving many fans feeling reluctant to part and grateful for Horikoshi-sensei's decade of tireless, heroic efforts.
After years of fan anticipation, "My Hero Academia" officially joins S.H.Figuarts! The first character to be released in the series is, of course, the protagonist Izuku Midoriya! From the currently revealed product images, this figure is based on Izuku's appearance in the seventh season of the anime, faithfully recreating his yellow scarf and the red hero support gear on his arms! Detailed sales information will be announced later, and we eagerly anticipate the future appearance of other "My Hero Academia" characters in the S.H.Figuarts lineup!
