Under KOTOBUKIYA's "ARTFX Artist Series," which collaborates with various artists, the latest product from the Marvel Universe, "Venom -Armed & Dangerous-" 1/6 scale figure, has been announced. The suggested retail price is 39,600 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in December 2024.
Japanese renowned animation director and animator Hiroyuki Imaishi is a co-founder and director of the animation studio TRIGGER. After graduating from Tama Art University, he joined the animation studio GAINAX. The first animation he was responsible for after joining the company was the phenomenal work "Neon Genesis Evangelion," which remains a classic topic to this day. He later served as the director for the anime "Gurren Lagann," establishing a strong personal style with his innovative expressive techniques and unique narrative approach.
This collaboration with director Hiroyuki Imaishi, the "ARTFX Artist Series Venom -Armed & Dangerous-," brings to life Venom as reinterpreted and drawn by Hiroyuki Imaishi in his unique style. Standing approximately 22 cm tall, the figure showcases Venom in a powerfully chaotic pose. Its physique is distorted by Imaishi's characteristic style, with abnormally massive arms brimming with powerful force. The upper body is exaggerated to its maximum, with bulging veins and muscles! The wet, long tongue, paired with striking fluorescent green saliva, creates a full sense of the grotesque!
The paintwork utilizes "MAZIORA," a special coating that changes color depending on the angle and light reflection, mysteriously highlighting each muscle fiber. The white spider emblem extending from the chest to the back, and the symbiote surging across its body, also demonstrate vibrant vitality. While condensing Imaishi's style, the overall design is faithfully based on the comics, without unnecessary embellishments, perfectly conveying a deep love and respect for Marvel and American comics.
