Japanese toy company TAKARA TOMY's high-end toy brand T-SPARK recently officially announced the first product in its new assembly model series, "REALIZE MODEL," featuring the "RMZ-001 Blade Liger" from "ZOIDS," with an anticipated release in late February 2025.
The "REALIZE MODEL" is an articulated assembly model product crafted in 1/100 scale, emphasizing "superb articulation," "easy assembly," and "collectibility." From the number of parts and sense of scale to the design and structure, developers have considered players' preferences from their perspective, materializing various ideal conditions one by one.
The first release, "RMZ-001 Blade Liger," is a redesign that merges the kit released in 2000 with the anime's in-show settings, adding richer detail to various parts. It boasts four major features: "extensive articulation mechanisms," "detailed articulation for dynamic posing," "anime scene reproducibility," and "accessories for famous scene recreation."
The entire model is constructed using multi-color molded parts and features newly designed articulation mechanisms not seen in previous Zoids products. Not only are there extensive articulation mechanisms in the neck, shoulders, body, limbs, and tail, but even detailed parts like the elbows, knees, claws, and leg heat sinks are articulated. This allows for natural and vivid poses, like a real beast, enabling dynamic scenes of roaring, intimidating, running, and attacking. The head can also reproduce the specialized unit's appearance by swapping parts.
Furthermore, the REALIZE MODEL Blade Liger can reproduce various weapon mechanisms from the anime. The blades on both sides of the fuselage can be deployed and fitted with effect parts to recreate the classic "Blade Attack Form" and "Pulse Laser Gun Firing Form." The head's mane can also expand to reproduce the "Energy Shield Activation Form," and the back can deploy its internal boosters. Additionally, accessories include mini figures of the protagonists, Van and Fiona, and a generic soldier, all in the same scale, which can be placed inside the head cockpit.
