METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE 'Aura Battler Dunbine: Welbine (Na Country Royal Guard Commander Specification)' Prototype Exhibit!

BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collector's toy division in Japan recently showcased a prototype of the new "Welbine (Na Country Royal Guard Commander Specification)" from Aura Battler Dunbine, a new spin-off series from their popular METAL BUILD alloy toy line, "METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE", at the series exhibition "METAL BUILD FESTIVAL 2024 WITH CLUB TAMASHII MEMBERS". It is scheduled for release in December 2024.

Welbine is one of the Aura Battlers widely known to Aura Battler Dunbine fans, yet it never appeared in the anime, only in games like Super Robot Wars. In fact, Welbine's design is closer to the initially planned successor to Dunbine, "Billbine". However, at the time of the anime's broadcast, to meet the demands of toy sponsors for model sales, it was temporarily modified into the current mechanical-style Billbine, much to the dissatisfaction of director Yoshiyuki Tomino and others. It wasn't until later that mechanical designer Yutaka Izubuchi re-drew the initial design in the model magazine 'B-CLUB', giving birth to "Welbine", which inherited Dunbine's biological aesthetic.

"METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE Welbine (Na Country Royal Guard Commander Specification)" adopts the same design style as the previous work, "Sirbine". Based on the concept that "Aura Battlers are products made from materials stripped from powerful beasts combined with artificial processing," the entire body is given a highly biological appearance, expressing the texture of beast wings, claws, and carapaces, while also incorporating an alloy frame and metallic paint to show artificial traces. This product is scheduled for a preview on PREMIUM BANDAI on July 19th, with detailed product information to be released simultaneously.
