The popular die-cast toy series 'METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE', a spin-off from BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS in Japan, recently showcased a prototype of the new "Sirbine White Treasure ver." from Aura Battler Dunbine at the special exhibition 'METAL BUILD FESTIVAL 2024 WITH CLUB TAMASHII MEMBERS'.
The protagonist's Aura Battler Sirbine, from the OVA 'Aura Battler Dunbine New Story of Aura Battler DUNBINE,' is an Aura Battler slumbering in the sacred land of "Baraan Baraan." Shion Zaba, the reincarnation of protagonist Sho Zama, pilots this machine to protect Princess Remul, engaging in fierce battles against his nemesis, Black Knight Raban, who pilots the Zwarth. Sirbine's design philosophy is vastly different from other Aura Battlers; it carries no projectile weapons and lacks any dashboard instrumentation. The pilot must wear a helmet and use the powerful Aura Power's "Mind's Eye" to track targets, achieving its most formidable combat performance with just a sword and shield.
The "METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE Sirbine White Treasure ver." is a modified version based on the previously released standard edition. It also extends the design from mechanical designer Yutaka Izubuchi's illustrations, emphasizing the highly organic, "beast-material construction" aesthetic from the original work. In addition to incorporating a modern, tall silhouette and segmented armor layout, it features a brilliant pearlescent finish, using various metallic colors to express its mechanical structure and ornate golden carvings.
The difference lies in the overall color scheme, which deviates from the standard edition's anime-accurate purplish-gray. Instead, it adopts a pearlescent white armor color, fitting its "White Treasure" moniker in the setting, complemented by gems and golden carvings across its body, exuding a magnificent and elegant aura. However, this item is currently still in the reference exhibit stage, and its commercialization has not yet been confirmed.
