KAIYODO ARTPLA "Armored Trooper Gallian: Iron Emblem - Jashinhei" Plastic Model Kit, A Legendary Work from the Company's Founding Era Reappears with New Specifications!

Japanese model company KAIYODO, under its high-quality plastic model kit series "ARTPLA," is launching a new product themed after the robot anime "Armored Trooper Gallian" OVA work "Armored Trooper Gallian: Iron Emblem" — the "Jashinhei" plastic model kit!

"Armored Trooper Gallian" is an SF robot TV anime produced in 1984 by Japanese animation studio SUNRISE, blending medieval knight fantasy style with sci-fi elements. "Iron Emblem," on the other hand, is a brand new story produced as an OVA in 1986. In 1986, sculptor "Eiji Kohirumaki" unveiled a Jashinhei GK resin model themed after "Iron Emblem" in the December issue of Hobby Japan magazine, which astonished many people at the time. However, after releasing a few related works for "Iron Emblem," he vanished like a legend. In reality, "Eiji Kohirumaki" was a pseudonym created by KAIYODO's sculpting team during its founding period. Now, 40 years later, the Jashinhei model sculpted by the legendary sculptor Eiji Kohirumaki will reappear in the form of a plastic model kit!

This new work references the 1986 resin model version, reproduced with injection plastic. It recreates Jashinhei's humanoid upper body wielding a massive scythe and its serpentine lower body supporting the whole structure. In line with Eiji Kohirumaki's original concept, the design isn't strictly bound by pure fidelity to the mecha's design blueprints. It is sculpted in a way that breaks free from joint positions and range of motion limitations, physically reproducing the sense of distortion that transcends armor hardness, as depicted in the anime. The visual impact is quite stunning!
