Danish toy company LEGO's Technic series finally officially unveiled its highly anticipated latest product, item number 42172, the "McLaren P1" 1/8 scale brick-built model, last night (10th)! It is scheduled for release on August 1, 2024, with a suggested retail price of US$449.99 (Taiwan official price is NT$14,399).
This time, the ultimate supercar in the Technic series, built at 1/8 scale to give collectors a premium feel and a close-to-real-car experience, is the McLaren limited-edition hybrid supercar P1! This model consists of 3893 pieces. Once assembled, it stands approximately 14 cm tall and an impressive 59 cm long. The body of the P1 is constructed using a large number of orange-yellow and black Technic elements, faithfully reproducing the iconic wheels and carbon-ceramic brake discs. Its elegant, streamlined design looks absolutely extraordinary from every angle – incredibly cool!
Beyond its stunning appearance, this LEGO McLaren P1 naturally features a wealth of interactive mechanisms, including an adjustable rear wing, opening dihedral doors, a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, a V8 engine, and more. Just seeing the mechanical structures hidden beneath the bodywork is enough to get anyone incredibly excited! Furthermore, this model, like the previous "42115 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37," comes with a unique serial number for accessing exclusive online content.
