Hong Kong toy manufacturer threezero's "ROBO-DOU" (ロボ道) series, which features highly detailed and complex designs based on Japanese anime alloy mecha, will re-release the previously launched "VF-1J Veritech (Rick Hunter Version)" as a Weathered Edition. Limited pre-orders will be available exclusively at four events held at the end of the month: San Diego Comic-Con, Taipei International Film & Toy Festival and Toy Creators Exhibition, Shanghai ChinaJoy, and Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games!
The VF-1J Veritech released by Hong Kong manufacturer threezero is named after its appearance in the American version of "Robotech." In 1985, American company Harmony Gold acquired the North American broadcasting rights for "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross," "Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross," and "Genesis Climber MOSPEADA." These three anime series were then combined and re-edited into an 85-episode long-form television animation titled "ROBOTECH." In 1992, ROBOTECH was introduced to British Hong Kong and broadcast by Asia Television International Channel.
This "VF-1J Veritech Weathered Edition" stands approximately 20.3 cm (8 inches) tall in Battloid mode. Inheriting the design of the previously released "VF-1J Veritech," it highly recreates its anime appearance, utilizing a super-rigid alloy frame to ensure structural stability, allowing for stable posing in various dynamic stances. It can also transform between Fighter, Gerwalk, and Battloid modes! The weathering paint application for this edition is based on the battle-damaged appearance from Episode 16, "Battle Cry," of the American animated series, featuring threezero's renowned delicate weathering paintwork that meticulously showcases various mechanical details!
