Japanese gashapon toy manufacturer TOYS CABIN has launched a very interesting new product based on the electronic musical instrument invented by Maywa Denki – the "Otamatone" (オタマトーン) gashapon. The suggested retail price is 500 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in August 2024!

Maywa Denki, a cutting-edge design performance group under Japan's Yoshimoto Kogyo, excels at performing various interesting shows using self-made instruments. The instruments used in their performances are all developed by the group's "President," Nobumichi Tosa, who also collaborates with toy manufacturers to mass-produce and sell these self-made instruments, leveraging performance opportunities to market them. Among all the products developed, the most famous and best-selling is undoubtedly the electronic musical instrument toy called "Otamatone." Its cute, note-like shape, paired with its dot eyes and enchanting sound, captivates many at first sight. To date, it has been released in various sizes, colors, and even multiple collaborative designs!

This product faithfully recreates the Otamatone's design at a height of approximately 14 cm. While it cannot be played like a real instrument, pressing a button will play pre-recorded songs. Each color features a different melody, with five styles available: "White - Wedding March," "Black - Hotaru no Hikari (Glow of the Fireflies)," "Pink - Happy Birthday," "Blue - Kuma-san no Mori (Mr. Bear in the Forest)," and "Yellow - Kaeru no Uta (Frog Song)." Each is a classic song or Japanese folk tune, allowing everyone to experience the enchanting charm of Otamatones through these gashapon toys!
