Japanese toy company TAKARA TOMY's popular toy series "ZOIDS" 40th Anniversary Project, 'ZOIDS 40TH ANNIVERSARY PROJECT', recently officially announced a new collaboration product with the classic fighting manga "Fist of the North Star", the "Wild Liger Kokuoh", scheduled for release in December 2024.
In the original "Fist of the North Star", Kokuoh is the beloved steed of Raoh, the King of Fists and conqueror of the century's end. Its massive, jet-black physique is in no way inferior to its master Raoh's muscular build. The footprints left by its hooves resemble those of an elephant, and its jumping power is astonishing. Its strength allows it to kick through thick iron gates and trample humans. Kokuoh is also a wise and fiercely loyal warhorse to Raoh; only those it acknowledges are worthy of riding on its back. It once followed Raoh even after his subordinates fled, to which Raoh responded to its loyalty, "Only Kokuoh can carry my body."
The "Wild Liger Kokuoh" is based on the ZW01 Wild Liger, the protagonist Zoid from the previously released "Zoids Wild", modified to match Kokuoh's jet-black color scheme. It also includes original stickers to replicate the patterns of Kokuoh's harness. The jet-black body can be gradually assembled from the internal frame, which houses a motor power unit. Activating the motor allows the Wild Liger Kokuoh to walk automatically and deploy its back blades to recreate the "Instinct Release" pose for its special moves.
However, the product's biggest highlights are its packaging and accessories. The box art features a cool and realistic Gekiga-style illustration. The accessories also include an acrylic character standee of Raoh, the King of Fists, and a three-dimensional background display base printed with a large army of Raoh's forces. These allow the Wild Liger Kokuoh to be placed together in the scene, creating a powerful diorama featuring all three.
