Following the recent release of the Gladiator II trailer, American collectible manufacturer Premium Collectibles Studio (PCS) has officially unveiled its latest product from the classic 2000 epic masterpiece, "Maximus", a 1/3 scale full body statue! Shipping is expected to begin from March to May 2025, with a suggested retail price of US$1,350.
Directed by Ridley Scott and starring Russell Crowe as Maximus, Gladiator tells the story of Marcus Aurelius, the last emperor of Rome's Five Good Emperors era, who intended to pass his throne to General Maximus, a hero of the Germanic campaigns. However, the emperor's son, Commodus, seized power through a bloody coup, and Maximus was framed, losing his family and being reduced to a lowly slave. Maximus later became a gladiator, winning battle after battle, eventually earning the chance to seek revenge against Commodus. The film won Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Costume Design, Best Visual Effects, and Best Sound at the 73rd Academy Awards, cementing its status as a timeless classic for many.
This piece stands approximately 66 cm tall, faithfully recreating Maximus's appearance as a slave warrior. From his tattered blue tunic and worn armor to the Roman gladius clutched in his right hand, every detail has been meticulously reproduced. The head sculpt delicately captures Russell Crowe's likeness and spirit from his portrayal, depicting a steadfast yet subtly sorrowful expression. Beyond the exquisite carvings on his battle armor and the intricate decorations on the gladius hilt, the chainmail is crafted from real metal, adding an unparalleled sense of realism to the overall presentation. Accessories include an interchangeable helmeted head sculpt for his return to the Colosseum, an interchangeable left hand equipped with a shield, and a base meticulously designed to represent the Roman Colosseum, complete with real sand and even the two wooden training dummies...
