BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division in Japan has announced today the latest product from the movie "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM", the "HG 1/144 Gelgoog Menace", part of the highly diverse 1/144 scale Gunpla "HG (High Grade)" series, scheduled for release in October 2024. This product will be sold exclusively on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The ZGMF-2025/F Gelgoog Menace is a new mobile suit developed from the ZGMF-1000 Zaku Warrior series. Its design is also inspired by the Zeon military mobile suit Gelgoog, which appeared in the original "Mobile Suit Gundam". The standard specification unit is equipped with a rich array of armaments including a handheld railgun, beam rifle, beam naginata, and beam shield, and can swap between two backpack specifications for space or atmospheric combat environments.
The "HG 1/144 Gelgoog Menace" is a modification of the previously released Lunamaria Hawke's Custom unit. The overall molding colors have been changed to reproduce the blue and green color scheme of the standard specification unit, and the backpack has been replaced with the space-use specification, which is also compatible with the Gyan Strom.
Other specifications remain the same as Lunamaria Hawke's Custom unit, featuring the "SEED Action System" movable joint design. This multi-axis articulation expands the range of motion for the neck, shoulders, and upper body, allowing for dynamic and cool action poses characteristic of the SEED series. Armaments include a handheld railgun, beam rifle, and beam naginata. The beam naginata handle can be stored on the rear waist, and with the flexible shoulder articulation, it's possible to recreate poses holding the railgun or beam rifle with both hands.
