Hong Kong-based designer toy brand Mechnoiz Toys, after releasing various characters based on "Neon Genesis Evangelion," is now bringing a soft vinyl toy with a renewed visual style: the "EVANGELION Test Type-01 Translucent Purple"! It is scheduled for limited release at the Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong 2024 event, starting on July 26, 2024.
In my personal opinion, the "Neon Genesis Evangelion" themed soft vinyl toys produced by Mechnoiz Toys can definitely be considered outstanding works that have recently ignited the passion of many EVA fans. Whether it's the humanoid Test Type-01, Type-02, Type-13, or the eerily shaped Fourth Angel Sachiel, all boast captivating proportions and intricate detailing. Coupled with their imposing size, approaching 30 cm, one truly desires to acquire at least one version of each character.
This time, the EVA Test Type-01, reappearing in a translucent purple color scheme, possesses a remarkably beautiful sense of transparency. While enjoying its clear allure, one can meticulously appreciate the intricate details sculpted onto the Test Type-01's body. Even its signature weapon, the "Progressive Knife," is entirely translucent purple. This color combination, paired with the highly layered sculpt, significantly enhances the aesthetic lines of EVA! Mechnoiz Toys also stated that this new color Test Type-01 is produced using a new mold, with improved adjustments made to its articulated joints and part separation. Collectors who acquire both the initial and new versions will surely be able to feel the difference! For those unable to attend Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong, there's no need to worry, as this item will also be released in Taiwan later. Please stay tuned to Mechnoiz Toys for more details.
