Japan's official Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, today announced the latest limited-edition product from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny", the "MG 1/100 Destiny Gundam (Heine Westenfluss Custom)", scheduled to go on sale starting July 27, 2024.
The Destiny Gundam (Heine Westenfluss Custom) first appeared as a special first-edition bonus included with the collaborative commemorative album "X42S-REVOLUTION" released by T.M.Revolution (Takanori Nishikawa) and "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" for Gunpla's 30th anniversary. In its setting, it is the same specification as the unit piloted by Shinn Asuka, but piloted by the ace pilot Heine Westenfluss, voiced by Takanori Nishikawa. The mobile suit's paint scheme and beam colors match his signature color, "orange". In C.E. 74, Z.A.F.T. intended to gather ace pilots from various regions to form the "Concluders" special unit, which would be supplied with the main MS Destiny Gundam. Heine was selected to pilot the Destiny Gundam; however, following Heine's unfortunate death in battle, the unit was preserved in the hangar, never having been piloted.
This product is a modified version of the "MG 1/100 Heine Westenfluss Custom Destiny Gundam" kit, which was a limited-edition item released at the "Gundam Model EXPO" in 2010. The main body of the Destiny Gundam reuses parts from previous products, utilizing molded colors to reproduce Heine's personal orange and white color scheme. It comes equipped with armaments such as the "Arondight" Beam Sword, High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannon, "Flash-Edge 2" Beam Boomerang, High-Energy Beam Rifle, and Shield.
The product also includes a wealth of accessories modified from the "MG 1/100 Destiny Gundam EXTREME BLAST MODE" kit released in 2007. All abundant effect parts, such as the "Wings of Light effect", "Beam Shield effect", "Palm Beam Cannon effect", and various beam effects, have been changed to a clear orange tone to match Heine's custom unit.
