SUPER7, an American toy brand dedicated to releasing various pop culture-themed toys, has announced that its 3.75-inch action figure series "ReAction" will launch a new "Voltron: Defender of the Universe" themed product – the "Voltron" 3.75-inch action figure – at San Diego Comic-Con!
"Voltron: Defender of the Universe" is a television animation series produced in 1984 by the American company World Events Productions (WEP), which adapted and combined two Japanese Toei-produced mecha anime: "Beast King GoLion" (百獣王ゴライオン) and "Armored Fleet Dairugger XV" (機甲艦隊ダイラガーXV). The entire series consists of 124 episodes, telling the story of five Earth youths who form an alliance with five mechanical lions to create the Space Defense Force, combining to become the mighty robot giant "Voltron" and protecting peace in the universe.
This Voltron 3.75-inch action figure recreates the classic five-lion combined form, reproducing Voltron's appearance from the show as much as possible at the 3.75-inch scale. The paintwork uses flat and pearlescent finishes to replicate the original version's vibrant colors, and it comes with a proportionally scaled "Blazing Sword"! A major highlight this time is the exquisite printing on the packaging, which pays homage to the classic outer box design of the 1984 toy, along with the SUPER7, ReAction, and 40th Anniversary logos. This allows everyone to own a Voltron 40th Anniversary commemorative product at a relatively affordable price and in a space-saving small scale!
