From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS' S.H.Figuarts action figure brand, known for its "CineToy TAMASHII" series based on film and television properties, is set to release a new figure from the multi-award-winning 2023 animated film "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse." Following the upcoming release of the Spider-Punk figure this month, they are now launching the "Spider-Man India" action figure, priced at 9,900 JPY and slated for release in December 2024!
"Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," directed by Joaquim Dos Santos and Kemp Powers, is the animated sequel to "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse." The story picks up a year and four months after Miles Morales became Spider-Man of Earth-1610. He's successfully fought numerous criminals but still misses his Spider-Friends. When Ghost-Spider, Gwen Stacy, appears before Miles, she introduces him to the existence of the multiverse's Spider-Society. To defeat the Spot, an enemy evolving into a multiversal threat, Miles follows Gwen on an adventure to discover his own identity and save the multiverse.
Spider-Man India, whose real name is Pavitr Prabhakar, hails from Earth-50101, specifically the city of Mumbattan, a vibrant fusion of Mumbai and Manhattan. His web-slinging style involves a yo-yo-like technique, and he's been Spider-Man for an even shorter time than Miles.
This Spider-Man India figure faithfully recreates his cinematic appearance. Intricate sculpting captures his proud flowing hair and the intensely detailed, exotic engravings on his Spider-suit. The fabric on his crotch is made of soft plastic and lacks articulation, which might slightly impact poseability. The paint application meticulously reproduces the suit's colorful design details, utilizing seven different paint finishes to differentiate between metallic and fabric textures. Accessories include multiple yo-yo-like web effect parts, allowing collectors to recreate Spider-Man India swinging through the buildings of Mumbattan!
