BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan, which issues the Gunpla「RG(Real Grade)」series that incorporates exterior armor, internal frames, interlocking armor, and new technologies into 1/144 scale models, today announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM", the「RG 1/144 Blast Impulse Gundam SpecII」, scheduled for release in September 2024.
TheZGMF-56E2 Impulse Gundam SpecIIis a new mobile suit secretly recovered by the Eternal after the Impulse Gundam was severely damaged in the previous war, then repaired and improved by Morgenroete with the latest technology. After replacing the new battery and other energy systems, the color of the VPS armor becomes deeper when activated, and it can also be wirelessly charged from the Hyper Duetrion Beam Supply System launched by the Destiny Gundam SpecII. The rest of its armaments remain largely unchanged, but it can be equipped with the giant enhanced equipment "Tactical Striker M.E.T.E.O.R".
The「RG 1/144 Blast Impulse Gundam SpecII」is based on the previously released Force Impulse Gundam kit, modified with new parts to create the "Blast Silhouette" that fans have been waiting for for many years. At the same time, the molding color of all parts has been changed to military green, reproducing the VPS armor color from the show. It features the RG series' characteristic high-density detailed sculpting, excellent color separation and part division design, and a rich variety of body marking stickers.
The new "Blast Silhouette" precisely reproduces the nozzles of the large thrusters at the rear and the movable giant cannon barrels on both sides. The cannon barrels can rotate back and forth to switch between a long-range beam cannon and a four-barrel missile launcher. The two ultra-high-velocity railguns on the shoulders also rotate in multiple directions. The two beam javelins concealed within the beam cannons can be equipped in both hands with beam effects. Additionally, the handheld large railgun, newly added in the theatrical version, is also included.
