Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company's prize figure brand BANPRESTO, under its "VIBRATION STARS" series which showcases dynamic character poses, is releasing a new product based on the Ultraman animated film 《ULTRAMAN: Rising》 – "Ultraman". It is scheduled for release as a prize figure in late July 2024!
《ULTRAMAN: Rising》 (ULTRAMAN: Rising) is a computer-animated film distributed by Netflix, co-produced by Industrial Light & Magic, founded by Star Wars director George Lucas, and Tsuburaya Productions, the creators of Ultraman. The story follows protagonist Ken Sato, who, behind his identity as a baseball star, is also the world-protecting superhero, Ultraman. During a mission upon returning to his home country, he suddenly faces the daunting task of raising the child left behind by his archenemy, forcing him to ponder the true meaning of being Ultraman while fulfilling his heroic duties and raising a monster.
The sculptor responsible for this VIBRATION STARS《ULTRAMAN: Rising》Ultraman figure was deeply impressed by the unique action sequences in the animation. Therefore, they decided to design this version of Ultraman, with its distinctive inverted triangular physique, in a forward-leaping attack pose. Referencing the dynamics of American comic book heroes, a difficult yet proportionally accurate pose was precisely crafted despite the unique body shape. The elongated proportions of the limbs and the sculpted shoulders, chest, and abdominal muscles were also meticulously designed, showcasing the unique charm of the animated version of Ultraman!
