Hong Kong model manufacturer YOLOPARK's "AMK PRO" series, known for its high-quality pre-painted assembly model kits partially crafted with alloy, is once again releasing a new product from the classic Transformers animated series—the "Starscream" pre-painted assembly model kit, priced at US$49.99, with an estimated release in Q4 2024!
In the 1984 G1 animation, "Starscream" served as the Decepticons' Air Commander. His alternate mode was an F-15 jet fighter. He possessed a sycophantic yet power-hungry personality, constantly seeking to usurp Megatron's leadership. Interestingly, Starscream's design was identical to several other G1 characters because the original TAKARA toy prototypes for these characters shared the same mold, differing only in color. The most famous examples include Skywarp and Thundercracker.
YOLOPARK's previous G1 "Optimus Prime" and "Megatron" releases in the AMK PRO series greatly impressed many fans with their accessible price points and excellent product quality. This third installment in the series, Starscream, stands approximately 19 cm tall. Its design perfectly recreates Starscream's animated appearance. The cockpit on the chest is made with translucent colored material, allowing a subtle glimpse of the internal mechanical structure. The overall construction utilizes injection-molded plastic and some die-cast metal parts, giving it a substantial weight! The colors are applied via pre-painting, reproducing the vibrant animated color scheme, and meticulously crafted with high-quality weathering effects. Assembly is also remarkably simple, taking less than 10 minutes to complete!
The articulation, like the previous two entries in the series, features double joints at the elbows and knees, along with pull-out joints at the shoulders and thigh roots. Combined with the weight of the die-cast metal parts, this provides a high degree of poseability and stability! The eyes feature an LED light-up function with a magnetic switch. Accessories include jet effects that can be attached to the feet, lightning effects for the chest, and interchangeable faceplates. Although this series does not feature transformation, it can still flexibly recreate Starscream's various robot mode appearances from the show!
