World-renowned TV and film special effects company "WETA Workshop" recently announced a new creation from the fantasy epic "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King": the "KING OF THE DEAD" 1/6 scale full body statue! Pre-orders are now open on the WETA Workshop official website, with an estimated shipping start in Q1 2025, priced at US$599.

In "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King", the Army of the Dead, which played a crucial role in the "Battle of the Pelennor Fields", is referred to in the original "The Lord of the Rings" as the "Dead Men of Dunharrow". They were cursed by "Isildur" for breaking their oath to the King of Men and gathered at Dwimorberg. The Paths of the Dead at the foot of Dwimorberg is a terrifying place that almost no one dares to approach. The leader of the Dead, the "King of the Dead", is also known as the "King of the Mountains".

This piece stands approximately 42.5 cm tall. WETA Workshop has reinterpreted this King of the Mountains, who resides in the shadows, using new production techniques. These include the selection of transparent resin as the material, improved 3D printing technology, the intricate sculpting of the skull shape, and the depiction of a proud expression. Not only is the facial detail astonishing, but the gradient treatment of the crown, the slightly cloudy transparency of the hair, the meticulously carved armor, and the ghost-like sheen achieved through delicate hand-painting are all incredibly impressive! The flowing, tattered cape perfectly captures the ethereal image of the King of the Dead as seen in the film, complemented by a base piled high with skulls, exuding a dangerous aura that warns others to keep their distance.
