Yesterday (24th), the action figure brand S.H.Figuarts, released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, officially unveiled sales information for its first work from the popular anime "My Hero Academia" — the "Izuku Midoriya" action figure. The suggested retail price is 7,700 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in December 2024!
The story of "My Hero Academia" is set in an era where everyone possesses superpowers called "Quirks," and the extraordinary has become commonplace. The Quirkless hero-fan protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, unexpectedly gains the recognition of the No. 1 hero, All Might, inherits his Quirk "One For All," and enrolls in U.A. High School, the top choice for heroes. As the story progresses, Midoriya gradually comes to understand the unique nature of the One For All ability, as well as its symbolic meaning and responsibility.
This Izuku Midoriya action figure stands approximately 14 cm tall and is sculpted in his appearance from the seventh season of the TV anime, as he heads towards the final battle with Shigaraki. It faithfully recreates various details of Deku's hero costume, including the gloves used for "Blast Rush Direction," the compressed support item gauntlet, and the "Shoot Style" iron shoes, among other hero support items. The scarf around his neck is made of soft plastic, and combined with articulated joints, it can be adjusted according to display needs. Accessories include multiple interchangeable face and hand parts, as well as effect parts for the "Blackwhip" Quirk of the fifth successor, Daigoro Banjo, for dynamic posing. The facial expressions are predominantly serious, reflecting the grave tone of the series extending from the sixth to the seventh season!
