The product collaboration project "CCPJAPAN × Yoshi. Project", a partnership between Japanese model manufacturer CCPJAPAN and popular sculptor Yoshi., recently showcased the painted sample of its fourth completed model product, "Fourth Angel", based on Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition. It is scheduled for release in Winter 2024.
As the first enemy encountered by EVANGELION Unit-01 in both the old and new theatrical versions, the Angel "Sachiel" left a deep impression with its attack on Tokyo-3 and its incredibly powerful combat methods. Its appearance resembles a skeleton encased in a jet-black body, with a crimson core exposed on its chest. It can fire a Spear of Light from its palm to pierce enemies, and a powerful destructive beam from the second face hidden within its head. In times of crisis, it can even liquefy its body to envelop enemies, detonating its core to perish with them.
The "CCPJAPAN × Yoshi. Project Fourth Angel" is reinterpreted by sculptor Yoshi. based on the original design. Its originally slender, human-like limbs are given more biological elements such as muscle fibers, sinews, and carapaces. The skull-like outer shell also becomes more akin to biological armor, claws, and fangs, enveloping the body. Through interchangeable parts, it can reproduce two distinct looks: before and after revealing its second face.
