Max Factory, a popular model kit brand from Japan, 'PLAMAX', has announced the latest product from the theatrical anime film 'The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?', the '1/72 VF-1S Strike Valkyrie Skull Leader', scheduled for release in January 2025.
The transformable fighter VF-1 Valkyrie, which first appeared in the original 1982 'The Super Dimension Fortress Macross', is one of the most iconic machines in the series, playing an active role in the 'First Space War' between Earthlings and Zentradi. This aircraft was developed by the U.N. Spacy using advanced alien technology acquired from an alien battleship, and is equipped with a nuclear fusion turbofan engine capable of continuous flight for 700 hours within an atmospheric environment. To combat the Zentradi, who are much larger than humans, it also features a three-stage transformation mechanism from fighter to robot. Its extremely high versatility has led to the development of various specifications. This product features the leader unit from the theatrical film 'Do You Remember Love?', equipped with the STRIKE PACK enhancement parts.
The 'PLAMAX 1/72 VF-1S Strike Valkyrie Skull Leader' is based on the previously released standard Valkyrie specifications, modified with new parts to recreate characteristic areas such as the Strike Pack unit, twin beam cannons, leg engine units, and folded vertical stabilizers. The two sets of 'Micro Missile Pods' and 'Twin Reaction Missiles' suspended from the main wings can be freely attached and detached.
The kit is composed of 6 different colored molded parts, balancing intricate detail and density while minimizing the number of parts, and meticulously designing seams to be inconspicuous. Accessories include a seated pilot figure that can be placed in the cockpit, as well as marking stickers and water decals to recreate three specifications: 'Roy Focker's unit', 'Maximilian Jenius's unit', and 'Hikaru Ichijo's unit'.
